Colour correction and colour grading have become a necessity in the industry due to various cameras available in the market. How do we handle the different settings in those cameras?

What do we need to prepare before our production? Can we avoid mistakes during the production? What is the best practice?

This course will help you to learn how to do the DIT job, build your DIT workstation, select the proper DIT softwares and understand the full camera-to-post production workflow, color spaces, LUTs and more.

You will also learn how to use the program’s many grading tools and workflows, and gain an in-depth understanding of advanced techniques and creative industry practices.

DaVinci Resolve is the most advanced editing, visual effects color correction, and audio post production solution for feature films, television shows and commercials. Its revolutionary workflow lets you switch between tasks with a single click, so you don’t have to learn multiple applications or translate projects between different software programs.

FABRIAN HENDRO

Brian graduated from the Melbourne Institute of Media and Communication in Diploma for Studies in Media and Communications (2008-2009) and Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University (2009-2010). These qualifications were recognized by the Indonesian Television Film Crew Association (KFT) allowing Brian to register with them and acquire national certification for his profession.

Brian has become a vital part of the camera department for all types of productions. With the prevalence of HD, 4K, and digital cinema technology, Brian is an aspiring filmmaker on the tasks of the DIT including workflow, colour management, LUTS, ACES, data management, dailies generation, and many other on-set tasks. Brian has become crucial in helping the director of photography achieve and maintain the desired look of the picture.

Brian has worked on many big feature movies projects such as Tenggelamnya Kapal Vanderwijck, Supernova, Ayat2 Cinta 2, Hit and Run, Layla Majnun etc, TV commercials, Indie Movie and documentary across the globe. Brian too, Is experienced in 2nd assistant camera and underwater technical assistant.

YUKI ARIANDI, CSI

Yuki has held different POST-PRODUCTION PROFESSIONAL managerial and teaching roles, that covered the entire range of service operations in film processing and video post- production over the last 20 years. He held positions in both private and governmental organisations, mainly in Singapore, but also other South-East Asian countries and Papua New Guinea.

In this multinational, multiracial environment, he had been highly regarded for his highly motivated and professional approach and his ability to deal clearly and effectively with the range of people encountered from business personnel to professionals, students and others. His fluency and tact combined with a diplomatic and pleasant persona made him an easy person to work with.

This combined with his proven ability to deliver simultaneous video editing and post-production projects on time and within the pre-set budget and quality constraints, made him a much sought-after professional. The results that he had delivered from leading daily business operations had contributed to his stellar experience, as he addressed the clients’ need to continuously improve service standards, quality, and profitability. Yuki had demonstrated his effectiveness to multitask in a given environment in a competitive and fast-paced environment.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Students will need:

  • Their own workstation that meets the minimum requirements to run and install DaVinci Resolve 17, pomfort silvertstack
  • Reliable high speed internet connection.

The Class will be conducted in an on-site classroom setup.

Students will need:

  • Individual workstation that meets the minimum requirements to run and install DaVinci Resolve 17, pomfort silvertstack
  • NAS (Network Attached Storage) for easy integrated access preferred,
  • If NAS is unavailable; sufficient internal storage required,
  • A DaVinci Resolve Studio License on each workstation.
  • If DaVinci Resolve Studio License is unavailable, DaVinci Resolve free is sufficient.

Instructor will need:

  • A teaching workstation that meets the minimum requirements to run and install DaVinci Resolve 17 equipped with Thunderbolt 3 port, pomfort silvertstack
  • A DaVinci Resolve Studio License
  • A projector or a large screen LED/LCD TV to project the User Interface of the teaching workstation,
  • An output box i.e. UltraStudio Mini Monitor 3G or UltraStudio 4K Mini,
  • A color-accurate broadcast monitor or a calibrated large screen TV (LG C8, C9 or CX model preferred.
  • A camera set Sony A7s3 or BMD, If possible digital cinema camera Arri Alexa or RED
