This ICA class starts with a two or three camera shoot (using RED, BMCC, Sony, and/or iPhone). We discuss how to shoot for the grade and pre-plan shots to make life easier in post. However, this doesn’t always happen, so we’ll be making some common mistakes during the shoot, and then learn how to fix or match them correctly in DaVinci Resolve. Not all cameras look the same, so matching cameras is a common problem faced by all productions.
This class is an excellent introduction to working with DaVinci Resolve and Frame.io. It is ideal for first time users and you do not need any experience to attend. It is important when learning any software to learn the correct way that will then form a great foundation going forward. You will receive the footage we shoot so can follow along with the post-production side of the class.
The class mixes the operational side of Resolve with real-world workflows and problems that often happen while shooting.
This class is ideal for small production companies, ‘one-man-band content creators’, editors, DITs, DPs, directors, and producers — basically anybody with a desire to learn more about color correction and workflows.
This is a 101-level class that will enable you to take your projects to the next level. It is run at a relaxed pace, we encourage questions, and group participation is a key part of the course.
All ICA instructors have at least five years of experience in the industry. They are working colorists, editors, and VFX artists.
All students taking this course receive an ICA Certificate and selected media.
